All are essential for life. The Whole Food Plant Based Diet contains all three of these as well as vitamins, minerals and micronutrients also essential for life, without the unnecessary additional fat and cholesterol in the meat and dairy based diet.<\/p><p>Carbohydrates are found in vegetables, fruit, grains, legumes, and provide energy for the body. \u00a0Energy comes from the sun through photosynthesis.\u00a0 Sun light is absorbed by chlorophyll in plants, and converted into energy. \u00a0This process synthesizes food from carbon dioxide and water and generates oxygen as a by-product.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5d90306 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"5d90306\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-095eea2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"095eea2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The so called \u2018bad carbs\u2019 refers to processed foods. \u00a0These are foods in boxes and bags which have been stripped of their protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals. \u00a0These are also called \u2018empty calories\u2019 because processed food contains calories, but none of the other necessary nutrients. \u00a0All food in boxes or bags is processed. \u00a0Unprocessed food comes from fields and trees.<\/p><p>Protein contains essential amino acids. \u00a0All essential amino acids are found in plants. \u00a0There is sufficient protein in vegetables and fruit, especially in the traditional combination of grains and legumes which contains all the essential amino acids. \u00a0Most animals eat grass and leaves which are rich in energy synthesized from the sun, including horses &#8211; one of the world\u2019s fastest animals, and elephants \u2013 one of the world\u2019s strongest animals. \u00a0Animals raised for food including cattle and chickens, eat plants.<\/p><p>Fat is energy storage for a food shortage and only used during food shortage. \u00a0Cholesterol is a waxy substance produced by non-plants for cell repairs, and other functions. \u00a0The human body produces enough of its own cholesterol for these purposes.<\/p><p>Additional fat and cholesterol in the body resulting from consuming meat and dairy clogs arteries causing heart disease; fills cells which cannot accept glucose for energy causing diabetes; and is considered to be responsible for some cancers.<\/p><p>The most healthful diet is the whole food, plant based vegan diet which is rich in protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals, has little fat, no cholesterol, looks and tastes delicious.\u00a0 Try it!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Food and Nutrition \u201cEating plants directly rather than in meat, dairy, eggs, much less of the crop is required to deliver the same amount of protein, without the pollution and pandemics.\u201d\u00a0 The Lancet Food has three categories: Protein, Carbohydrates, and Fat.
